The "Granddaddy of all trigger flies."
We wanted a fly that would dive when stripped but then immediately pop back up like an injured minnow gasping for air. This fly does exactly that. It bridges the gap between streamer fishing and topwater, allowing you to get "dry fly eats" on a streamer.
Why we love it:
The "Pop-Up" Action: The buoyant head design forces the fly to surface on the pause. That vertical "dying minnow" rise is often the trigger that convinces a following fish to commit.
Articulated Movement: The jointed body allows the tail to kick and swim freely, giving it a realistic profile even when sitting still in the current.
Visual Strikes: Because it fishes high in the water column, you get to see the aggressive, explosive takes that usually happen deep underwater.

Guide Tip: This is a rhythm fly. Strip it hard to pull it under, then pause and let it float back to the surface. Watch for the boil right as it breaks the surface film, that is when the "injured" illusion is most convincing.
