Designed by the legendary Chuck Kraft for the smallmouth rivers of Virginia, the Kreelex has become a universal solver for aggressive fish everywhere. It relies on a simple principle: blinding speed and blinding flash. It doesn't look like a specific minnow; it looks like a fleeing energy bar. The excessive metallic shine triggers a predatory response in trout, bass, and even saltwater species that simply cannot help but attack it.

The Material: Constructed almost entirely from Kreelex flash material, this fly reflects light with an intensity that few other patterns can match, making it deadly in stained or off-color water.
The Weight: The large, painted dumbbell eyes serve two purposes: they get the fly into the strike zone instantly, and they create a pronounced jigging action between strips, all while keep the hook riding up, due to the placement of the dumbell eyes on the hook. Details matter.
The Durability: Being made of synthetic flash , this fly is incredibly durable and can withstand the teeth of large brown trout or bass without falling apart.

Guide Tip: Speed kills with the Kreelex. Do not fish this slow. Cast it out and strip it back as fast as you can. The combination of the heavy eyes and the slick material allows it to dart erratically through the water column. It is often the best "slump buster" pattern when fish are sluggish and need to be woken up.
