⚠️ Wait for the Eat! Like a slow-motion rise from a big Cutthroat, you can't rush the hook set or you'll miss the fish. We custom-tie and pack every single order, so please allow 3-4 weeks for your gear to ship. Don't pull the trigger too early, quality takes patience!

The "Steak and Potatoes" of the river.
Golden Stoneflies spend 2 to 4 years living on the river bottom as nymphs before they hatch, which means they are available to trout year-round. This pattern is the gold standard for imitating these large, high-calorie meals. Unlike generic nymphs, this fly features realistic goose biot tails and antennae that create a lifelike silhouette and texture that big fish can't refuse.
Why we love it:
The Biots: The stiff, yellow goose biots used for the tail and antennae mimic the hard exoskeleton of a real stonefly, providing a realistic "crunch" and profile.
The Profile: The flattened turkey wing case and broad dubbed body perfectly match the shape of a stonefly clinging to rocks in fast water.
The Color: The rich golden/amber dubbing is an exact match for the naturals found in almost every freestone river in the West.
Quantity: Sold in packs of 12.
Guide Tip: This is your "Anchor Fly." It is heavy and big. Tie it on as your top fly to get your rig down, and trail a smaller nymph (like a Pheasant Tail or Baetis) behind it. Even if the fish don't eat the stonefly every time, they will come over to look at it, and then eat the smaller dropper.
