When the big Green Drakes are hatching, the fish can get incredibly selective about profile. This pattern solves that problem by extending the body well past the hook bend, creating the perfect long, slender abdomen of the natural insect without the weight of a larger hook. This allows the fly to float lighter and land softer, fooling even the most educated fish in the river.
