The "swimming jimmy" with a bad attitude and a heavy head.

Designed by Tim Hepworth, this pattern takes the proven greatness of Saboda’s Swimming Jimmy and gives it a distinct subsurface advantage. By adding heavy dumbbell eyes to the head, Tim created a fly that doesn't just swim, it dives, jigs, and hunts. It gets down into the strike zone immediately, offering a "touch of subsurface magic" that standard floating streamers lack. When fish see this thing diving and darting, they don't just eat it; they erupt on it.

Why we love it:

The Weight: The addition of dumbbell eyes gets this fly down fast, making it perfect for swinging through deep buckets or stripping aggressively off steep banks.

The Action: The articulation combined with the heavy head creates a lethal "jigging" motion between strips, mimicking a wounded baitfish struggling to stay upright.

The Name: It earns its title—when this fly hits the water, the surface eruptions from aggressive trout are anything but dysfunctional.

Quantity: Sold in packs of 6.

Guide Tip: This is your go-to pattern for "searching" water. Cast it quartering downstream and let it swing, then strip it back aggressively. The weight allows you to stall the fly in the current without it washing out, keeping it in the fish's face longer than unweighted versions.
