The Chubby Chernobyl is widely considered the most useful dry fly in the modern angler's box. It isn't just a fly; it's a suspension system. Designed to mimic large stoneflies (like Golden Stones or Salmonflies) and grasshoppers, it's foam back allows it to float through the roughest water imaginable while holding up the heaviest tungsten nymphs you can tie to it.

Guide Tip: This is the ultimate "indicator dry." Tie a 3-4 foot piece of tippet off the bend of the hook and attach a heavy tungsten nymph (like a Blow Torch). The Chubby is big enough to support the weight, and aggressive fish will often come up and eat the dry fly even when they are feeding on nymphs.
