The "Euro-Nymphing" evolution of the most famous fly in the world.
While the standard Pheasant Tail mimics a swimming nymph, this Jig version is designed to hunt. Built on a 60-degree jig hook, it rides upside down, allowing the heavy slotted tungsten bead to bounce right along the rocks without snagging. The addition of a soft CDC (Cul de Canard) collar brings the fly to life, pulsing with every micro-current to mimic the legs and gills of a struggling insect.
Why we love it:
The "Living" Collar: The soft CDC feathers trap tiny air bubbles and undulate in the water, creating a realistic "breathing" motion that stiff hackle can't match.
The Hot Spot: A spectral, peacock-colored dubbing collar behind the bead adds a flash of iridescence that triggers strikes in dark or deep water.
Bottom Bouncing: The jig hook design keeps the hook point riding up, protecting it from the river bottom and hooking fish securely in the upper lip.
Quantity: Sold in packs of 12.
Guide Tip: This is a staple for "tight line" or Euro nymphing. Because the CDC creates a little bit of drag, it falls slightly slower than a epoxy-coated nymph, making it deadly for wary fish in slower pools or tailouts.
