When caddis are emerging, they don't look neat, tidy, or perfectly proportioned—they look like a chaotic, bubbling, struggling disaster. The Caddistrophic Pupa captures that exact moment of vulnerability perfectly. This intentionally straggly, buggy subsurface pattern is designed to look like a caddis pupa fighting its way to the surface, and the trout are more than happy to end the struggle.

Guide Tip: Fish this on a dead drift, but don't pull it out of the water too early. When you reach the end of your drift, hold your line tight and let the fly lift naturally in the current toward the surface. That rising motion, combined with the incredibly buggy profile, is an absolute killer when the caddis are active on the Bow River.
