Blue Winged Olive (BWO) hatches often happen on gray, overcast days, making it nearly impossible to see a tiny size 18 or 20 fly on the dark water. This pattern solves that issue without spooking the fish. It features a realistic olive body and trailing shuck that sits flush in the film, but it includes a subtle pink "sighter" near the eye that acts as a beacon for the angler.

The Sighter: The small tuft of pink fibers allows you to track the fly's drift in foam lines or glare, ensuring you don't miss the subtle sip of a trout.

Guide Tip: When fishing small BWO emergers, apply floatant only to the wing and the thorax. Leave the tail/shuck un-greased so it sinks slightly, anchoring the fly in the surface film exactly like the natural insect.
